Workshop
The goal of the workshop is:
- to provide a sheltered environment suitable to the needs of the intellectually disabled participants,
- to provide meaningful work activities,
- to allow our participants to take a place in the community by producing products that have significance and value,
- to provide opportunities to learn.
The workshop is a fully functional industrial complex. The organization provides a valuable service to the local community through the production of products for local industry by acting as a recycling hub for the surrounding area, and by providing opportunities for people with intellectual disability to be a valuable part of the community.
The organization is built upon three main pillars:
- The first is the production of crates, pallets & wooden boxes for local industries.
- The second Pillar is the recycling component. Paper, plastics, metal and aluminum are sorted and returned for inclusion into new products.
- The third area is a mixture of products and services that are offered on a contract basis. These include projects like the numbering of medical file folders, packaging of small parts for local manufactures and carton assembly.
The workshop also runs a fully functional dual purpose kitchen that provides an opportunity for participants to learn about meal preparation and food services hygiene. The kitchen also provides a full meal service to the people who work in the complex.
